Are You a Health Care Professional?
Become an M.D. (Medical Doctor) or further your education while maintaining your current employment with minimal disruption through the COMHS "Partial Independent Study" pre-clinical program!
COMHS is a medical university located on the Caribbean island of Saint Lucia combining traditional education and modern technology to train physicians worldwide. Once known as Destiny University, COMHS is a cost effective opportunity for students worldwide to become physicians through the use of distance learning.
The COMHS, U.S. Style Doctor of Medicine (MD) program consists of 80 weeks of pre-clinical training (either full time, on-campus, or through partial independent study for health care professionals) in a semester-style curriculum, followed by 76 weeks of clinical training at teaching hospitals in the United States and elsewhere. Health care professionals can maintain their present employment with minimal disruption through the COMHS partial distance pre-clincal program.
What make us different? How does it work? Study your ENTIRE COMHSSL degree program from where you live. You can access our courseware website at your convenience, anywhere in the world to study, complete assignments or take exams. Using Skype, join lectures at pre-determined times, fully prepared for discussion. This offers meaningful discussions with the professors, not merely a time for note taking. We have been using this “flipped classroom” (also called E-Learning) concept since 2001. This saves your housing costs. Come to Saint Lucia for two weeks at the end of each semester for your ICM classes and meet the doctors and other students at COMHSSL. It is seriously fun!
Or come to Saint Lucia and attend classes, full time. (The partial independent study option requires two weeks on-campus in Saint Lucia at the end of each semester to attend the hands-on Introduction to Clinical Medicine (ICM) courses). Come see a tropical paradise!
The COMHS medical curriculum meets the standards required for Medical Licensing within the U.S. and for the ECFMG Examination.
